Serving Kansas and Missouri, we are here to help you through an unplanned pregnancy, providing adoption information and
services during tough
personal times. We also offer a wide range of counseling services to support
individuals and families.
Christian Family Services of the Midwest is a non-profit, family service organization governed and staffed by those who
honor the sanctity of all human life. We exist to provide services to help people who struggle with personal crises and
troubled relationships and to enhance the quality of family life. We have been serving the Kansas City metropolitan area
since 1982. Website: www.cfskc.org
For several years, Southside has provided a Food Pantry for families in our community who are in need. Donations for the Pantry come from the members
of the congregation and provide short-term help for people who do not have enough food for their families. The Food Pantry is open Tuesdays, Thursdays,
and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M.
LINK (Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen) serves lunch to those in Lawrence who need a hot meal.
Southside serves the noon meal on the third Tuesday of each even-numbered month. Our meal is started in the
kitchen at Southside and then finished in the kitchen at 10th and Kentucky where the meal is served. Typically,
about 150 meals are served by 8-10 Southside volunteers.
God can turn your
mess into a message, your trial into a triumph, and your
test into a testimony!
For the past fourteen years, the Southside women's jail ministry team has
brought the Gospel to the women incarcerated at the Douglas County Jail.
Each Friday evening, two members of the team bring a lesson from God's word
and pray with and for those attending the study. Our hope is for them to
know who Jesus is, know that he offers salvation freely to whomever
recognizes their need for a savior, and to help them understand they are
loved and have great value to God.
